Be The Crack Where The Light Gets In

Let that crack be in your facade, the mask you present to the world, because the light’s on the inside.
The divine is not out there someplace in the heavens. The divine is within each and every one of us whether we believe that or not.
The lesson those of us on the spiritual path eventually come to understand is that we are the presence of the divine in the world.
Once you get it, you’re not expected to keep it a secret but you’re also not expected to preach in an attempt to convince others. What you’re asked to do is live it.
You’re asked to be the crack that lets the light in.
You don’t need me to remind you of the darkness in the world. You only have to pay attention — but don’t let it overwhelm you.
You might not be able to solve any of the world’s problems, but what you can do is be the one who lives their life knowing they’re connected to the divine.
You do that by being what you want to see in the world. By being compassionate, kind, and loving, and not giving into despair, for example.
Allow the world to be as it is. It’s only going to change when enough of us become what we want to see in the world, and the light shining through you is illuminating the way for those closest to you.
Stay on the path, don’t be discouraged by the state of the world. Maintain your daily practice and be the crack that lets the light get in.
